Background
Hockly Legal is a law firm that specialises in helping clients find solutions to challenges with Māori land, historic and contemporary breaches of Te Tiriti by the Crown and the long term protection of our most important resources.
Opportunity
They are looking for research assistant for work in the Maori Land Court, High Court and Waitangi Tribunal.
You will be helping prepare files for hearing, review evidence and conduct legal research. There will be a little admin, but they will try to keep that to a minimum.
The role is for 5 hours per week, with the possibility of more if you are keen. You will need to work in the office to begin with, but as you get underway there will be the possibility of remote work.
The role is $35 per hour, with possibilities of renewal/roll over at the end of the 6 months proposed.
A CV of experience will be good, but a short cover letter setting out your interest in these areas and suitability would be even better, plus a couple of references.
