About the Event
Covid-19 has already had a dramatic impact on the tourism, accommodation, hospitality and retail sectors, but the broader economic impact of Covid-19 is yet to be felt by the wider economy. In this session, we will provide you with an overview of the restructuring tools available to corporates, so that you are aware of options should your clients call seeking advice to manage risk or distress. We will also touch on relief for directors and businesses and early warning signs to look for.
- At a high-level, learn about protections for directors and companies put in place in response to Covid-19.
- Learn how to identify early warning signs, so that you can offer a broader “trusted advisor” service, rather than just addressing the immediate issue.
- Be aware of the various corporate restructuring tools, including informal restructuring, business debt hibernation, creditors’ compromise, voluntary administration, receivership and liquidation.
- Gain an understanding of when and why each tool is applicable, with reference to real examples.
Who should attend?
This session is intended as an overview for corporate, commercial and general practitioners who would like to gain an awareness of corporate restructuring options to better serve their clients. It would also be suitable for directors, management and in-house counsel responsible for compliance. The session is not intended to expand existing knowledge of lawyers working in corporate restructuring.
