Mark is a Barrister and Arbitrator at FortyEight Shortland Barristers, Auckland.
Mark has over 25 years’ experience advising and representing clients in significant civil and commercial disputes.
He has a particular focus and expertise in the construction, infrastructure and property sectors.
Mark is a leading arbitration practitioner. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), and is an arbitration panel member of a number of arbitral institutions, including the New Zealand Dispute Resolution Centre. His experience includes ad hoc arbitration, and arbitration under various institutional rules.
In 2019 Mark was appointed to the Panel of Arbitrators of the New Zealand Law Society. Amongst other roles, he is the current convenor of the Auckland District Law Society Property Disputes Committee, Member of the Society of Construction Law, and is a former Council Member of the Arbitrators’ & Meditators’ Institute of New Zealand.
