Committees

Collectives of specialist lawyers directing their legal knowledge and experience to shape our law and practice so that it serves New Zealand society well.

ADLS hosts 17+ committees, each comprising of specialist lawyers contributing their legal knowledge and experience. Each of the below committees retains a watching brief over legal developments in their respective areas and also selects specific projects to undertake each year. Committees also draft submissions to Parliament, are a respected source of CPD content and, they represent ADLS when meeting with representatives from government departments and courts.

On top of this, ADLS committees contribute several thought leadership articles to be published in LawNews each year which are read by a large audience both within and outside of the direct legal profession.

Committee members hold their seats for a two year term (or part thereof), with the current term commenced October 2022.
